„When we started the Salon six years ago at KodlContemporary, our goal was to present the work of contemporary artists in context to Czech collectors. Already during the second year, we decided to internationalise the Salon and invited a foreign author to participate. Over time, it has become a tradition and this year the Salon is even equally represented by Czech and foreign (specifically Finnish) authors. That is why we have decided to take our efforts to internationalisation one step further and we are delighted to have been able to present the first travelling Summer Art Salon, which moved to Helsinki (Embassy Gallery) after its end in Prague. We have thus offered collectors the opportunity to perceive the art of their favourite artists in new contexts and artists the opportunity to present their work to a foreign audience. In this way, we are fulfilling our main mission to shift the context and boundaries of Czech visual art and place it in a global framework. We would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the Czech Embassy in Finland for this opportunity, as it took over the organisation and patronage of the exhibition in Helsinki.“
