Ondřej Basjuk
Ondřej Basjuk (1983). The Ondřej Basjuk’s personal fascination with the art of the Far East resonates strongly in his work. His art built on complex and thoughtful analyses stems from a deep knowledge of the philosophy of depiction in this part of the world, as well as from knowledge of philosophy and cultural history in general. Basjuk’s meditative paintings play out the harmonious blending of the spiritual world with the perceptible one. The attractiveness of the artist’s works is a synthesis of masterful drawing, demonstrated through a monochrome colour palette, and the socio-critical overlap that his works often conceal.
